The latest Once Human event has brought some new cosmetics through the Lightforge Loot Crates, and like many players, I couldn’t resist trying my luck. With a total spend of $100, which was significantly discounted thanks to a 50% offer,
I was able to pull multiple crates and gather a variety of rewards. In this article, I’ll walk you through my experience, review the Lightforge Loot Crates, and offer some practical tips for managing your spending if you’re considering diving into this gacha event.
What Are Lightforge Loot Crates?
For those new to Once Human or the gacha system, the Lightforge Loot Crates are part of a time-limited event where players spend in-game currency, Crystgins, to unlock random rewards. Each crate costs 160 Crystgins to open, which is roughly $2.64 USD per pull.
The crates contain a range of cosmetics, including Legendary, Epic, and Rare rewards. Here's a quick look at the drop rates:
Legendary Lightforge Collection (Gold): 1%Includes items like the Ethereal Feathers Set and Cold Breath.
Epic Lightforge Collection (Purple): 2.6%Includes the Sad Blossom – MPS5.
Other Epic Rewards (Purple): 49.5% Includes cosmetics like Territory Collection: Feathered Dreams, Castle Night Makeup Pack, and Rune-Scribed weapon skins.
Other Rare Rewards (Blue): 46.9% Includes various facility cosmetics and character items like the Metal Planter Boxes and Battlefield Quarterback Helmet.
With odds like these, it’s clear that getting the top-tier Legendary items can be a challenge.
My $100 Experience with Lightforge Loot Crates
Going into the event, I decided to take advantage of the 50% discount on the first 10 Lightforge Ingot purchases. This allowed me to open crates at half the usual cost and save some valuable resources. If it weren’t for the discount, I would have been looking at a total cost closer to $200.
After pulling 10 crates, I managed to score 6 additional pulls from my rewards, which gave me a bit more bang for my buck. But as any gacha player knows, the process is a mix of excitement and frustration. Here's what I ended up pulling:
Sad Blossom – MPS5 (Epic Lightforge Collection): This was one of my more exciting pulls, as it’s a cosmetic I can actually use with my loadouts.
Rune-Scribed – KV-SBR: A nice Epic weapon skin that adds some personality to my gear.
Cradle Charm: Dangerous Doll: A fun little charm to customize my weapons.
Cold Breath
Although I got some decent Epic pulls and a legendary cosmetic. Hitting that coveted 1% drop rate is no small feat, and with only 90 crates allowed per player for this event, the odds remain pretty steep.
Spending Responsibly in Gacha Events
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned from participating in gacha events like this is the importance of setting clear limits on your spending. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of pulling crates and chasing that one rare item, but it’s crucial to manage your resources carefully.
Here are a few tips for anyone considering spending money on Lightforge Loot Crates:
Take advantage of discounts: The 50% off the first 10 pulls is a great way to save resources, so if you’re on the fence, start there.
Set a budget: Whether it’s $50, $100, or any other limit you feel comfortable with, set a hard cap on how much you’re willing to spend and stick to it.
Consider the rates: With a 1% chance for Legendary items and 2.6% for Epics, understand that the odds are stacked against you. If you’re okay with that and mainly pulling for fun, then enjoy the experience—but don’t expect too much.
Think long-term: If you’re not in love with the current items, like no one uses the MPS5, consider saving your Crystgins for future events that might offer cosmetics or items more suited to your playstyle.
Ultimately, whether or not you dive into this event depends on how much value you place on the cosmetics offered. For me, the experience was a mix of highs and lows, but I was glad to walk away with a few items I’ll be using in the game.
Have you tried your luck with the Lightforge Loot Crates? I unboxed them so you don't have to, but if you still do. Share your experience in the comments below, and let me know what you managed to pull!

Mining resources in Once Human can be quite the challenge, but if you’re looking to maximize your Stardust Ore collection, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, I’ll walk you through an efficient and effective method using the Solar Drill and Canned Seafood in Oil buff combo. We’ll also cover the Stardust Mining Platform for AFK farming in Polluted Zones, so you can gather resources even while you’re away from the keyboard. Whether you're a hands-on player or prefer automation, this tutorial has something for everyone!
Step 1: Prepping for Mining – Solar Drill Overview
The first step to supercharging your Stardust Ore mining is getting your hands on a Solar Drill. Unlike traditional pickaxes, the Solar Drill offers significant boosts in efficiency and yield, making it an essential tool for high-level resource gathering.
Why the Solar Drill?
Charges on sunny days, meaning no more worrying about tool durability.
Increases yield by 40% for key materials like Copper Ore, Tin Ore, Iron Ore, Aluminum Ore, and Tungsten Ore.
Bonus effect with Treasure Hunter: A +100% yield boost for Gold, Silver, and Stardust Ore when using an Electric Drill. Combine this with the Solar Drill for some insane ore gains.
With the Solar Drill in hand, you’re already one step ahead. Make sure to craft this tool after unlocking it in the Memetic Specialization tree.
Step 2: Boosting Mining Efficiency with Canned Seafood in Oil
Now that you’ve got your Solar Drill, it’s time to push things even further with the Canned Seafood in Oil food buff. This legendary food item provides a powerful boost when mining, thanks to its unique Stroke of Luck ability.
Recipe for Canned Seafood in Oil:
1 Fish (any type)
1 Morel
2 Corn Oils
3 Aluminum Ingots
Once consumed, this buff gives you a chance to increase your mining yield by 66%, 666%, or even 6666% on the final hit. That’s right—you could mine a massive load of Stardust Ore with one lucky hit.
For example, in just 10 minutes of mining using this combo, I was able to gather 4,700 Stardust Ore. This setup is perfect for players looking to maximize efficiency during mining runs. Trust me, it works faster than you’d think—faster than I can cook breakfast, actually!
Step 3: Locations for Stardust Ore Mining
To start mining Stardust Ore, you’ll need to head to Polluted Zones, where Startrace nodes can be found. One of the best spots to gather Stardust Ore is the Upper Chalk Peak region above Alpha Institute, or Near Rippleby. Make sure to bring your Solar Drill and be ready for some random spawns, as the nodes can appear in different areas.
With the Solar Drill’s 40% yield boost and the Canned Seafood in Oil buff, you’ll be collecting Stardust Ore in no time. But why stop there?
Step 4: AFK Stardust Mining with the Stardust Mining Platform
If you’re looking to farm Stardust Ore without constantly swinging tools, the Stardust Mining Platform is your go-to option. This feature, unlocked through the Memetic Specialization, allows you to set up a mining facility in a Polluted Zone, enabling you to AFK farm Stardust Ore.
How the Stardust Mining Platform Works:
Increases mining yield by 20% when in a Polluted Zone.
Allows you to passively collect Stardust Ore without any active input.
Perfect for players who want to automate the resource-gathering process while they step away from the game.
Simply place the platform in a suitable location where Startrace Ore is present, and let it work its magic. While you’re off grabbing a snack or watching your favorite show, the platform will keep mining Stardust Ore, ensuring a constant flow of resources.
Step 5: Turning Stardust Ore into Stardust Source
After collecting all that Stardust Ore, it’s time to smelt it into Stardust Source. This can be done at an Electric Furnace, but you’ll need 15 Portable Mixed Fuel and 50 Stardust Ore to craft 50 Stardust Source.
In my example, I crafted 1,000 Stardust Source using full furnace efficiency, reducing crafting time by 60%. With the right specializations unlocked in the Memetic tree, this process can be even faster and more efficient.
The Oil Processing Specialization is key here, as it unlocks the formula for crafting Stardust Source and fuels your mining operation.
With the Solar Drill, Canned Seafood in Oil buff, and the Stardust Mining Platform, you’ll be mining Stardust Ore faster and more efficiently than ever before in Once Human. Whether you’re actively mining or setting up to AFK farm, this guide provides all the tools and tips you need to gather resources like a pro.
Be sure to keep an eye on Polluted Zones, optimize your gear and buffs, and start amassing that Stardust Ore to take your gameplay to the next level.
If you found this tutorial helpful, feel free to share it with your fellow players, and let me know your own tips and tricks for mining Stardust Ore in the comments!

How to Insert a Truck into Blackfell — A Step-by-Step Guide
Youtube link by yours truly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syzX_aBn9RM
This method requires some patience and teamwork, but with the right approach, you’ll have your truck parked in the town in no time. In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the process step by step.
What You'll Need:
2 Players (Meta-Human/People): You’ll need a friend to help push your truck.
A Truck: Line it up properly to make the process smooth.
A Ranger or Car: Your friend will use this to push the truck into Blackfell Town.
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Line Up Your Truck
First, position your truck at the entrance of Blackfell Town. Make sure it's aligned perfectly straight with the path you’ll be taking. This step is critical because any misalignment can make it much harder to push the truck in.
Take your time to position the truck carefully so that it's facing directly toward the entrance. This will set you up for a smooth transition into the town.
Step 2: Use a Second Player to Push
For this method, teamwork is essential. Have your friend hop into their Ranger or another vehicle and position it behind your truck. Their job is simple—give your truck a solid push to help get it into the town. Communication is key here, as the pushing process requires coordination.
Make sure both players are synced up and ready to work together. The better your teamwork, the smoother the process will be.
Step 3: Push the Truck Halfway In
Once your friend starts pushing, focus on getting the truck halfway into Blackfell Town. This is the critical moment when you’ll know if everything is working as it should. Getting the truck to this halfway point may take some time and patience, so don't rush it.
Keep your truck steady and communicate with your partner to ensure a controlled push. If you rush or misalign, you might have to start over.
Step 4: Keep Pushing Until Fully Inside (Approx. 4 Minutes)
Now that your truck is halfway in, the final stretch is where persistence pays off. This part of the process took me about four minutes, so don't worry if it feels slow. Keep pushing the truck steadily until it's fully inside Blackfell Town.
Your partner should keep applying gentle pressure with their vehicle while you guide the truck carefully through. It may feel slow, but don’t give up! You’re almost there.
Step 5: Success! Your Truck is Now Inside Blackfell Town
Congratulations! Once the truck is fully inside the town, you’ve completed the process. You can now use the truck to explore, transport goods, or just show off your skills. Whether you're using it to carry valuable resources or just flexing your in-game creativity, the truck will be a useful asset within the town.
Tips for Success:
Communication is Key: Make sure you and your partner are in sync while pushing the truck.
Take It Slow: Rushing the process could misalign the truck, forcing you to start over.
Be Patient: This method takes a few minutes to complete, but it’s worth the effort.
